Despite reports, Lil Wayne was not released from New York’s Rikers Island jail yesterday (November 4) on a bus like every other inmate. Weezy exited the facility like a celebrity; in a $300,000 Bentley.
According to local news network, NY 1, he was allowed to leave the jail in style because of concerns over his safety. At the time of pick-up he was also placed in a secret location outside of Rikers because he was such a high profile case.
As previously reported, Wayne was released at 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning after spending eight months behind bars for a 2007 arrest on gun charges.
The next stop for the rap superstar is in Arizona where he will have to sign probation papers for a separate drug charge in Yuma today. —Elan Mancini
