Diddy & Rick Ross Announce Bugatti Boyz EP [VIDEO]

It was only a matter of time. Business partners Diddy and Rick Ross announced via a video posted on YouTube this morning that they will be releasing a joint EP. [Watch below]

In the clip, which finds Ross and Puff listening to a smooth instrumental in a SUV, the hip-hop mogul says he has a lot to address on the disc. “ I got a shit on my mind, there’s a lot of shit I gotta get off my chest. “ he said. “There’s a lot of shit I gotta say too,” Rozay added.

The duo, collectively known as the Bugatti Boyz, have already dropped two tracks in October, “Fountaine Bleau” featuring Masspike Miles and “Another One.”

As of press time there is no release date for the EP, but Diddy is planning to drop his oft-delayed album, Last Train to Paris on December 14. —Elan Mancini

I gotta say I’m actually a fan of bofe these niggas but its kinda sad to see how a (overly) grown man post 40 is errily trying to relive his days with his fallen comrad (Biggie) with a man that vaguely resembles him is only half as talanted and only close to him in weight, height and complexion. Its kinda weird. If Ross was a lil light skin skinny cat I wonder would we still be seein these colabs and this vid. I dont’ know maybe I’m over thinking it. But I am interested in the project, so bump it! what do you guys think??

Diddy You are not (1994-96)Puffy (anymore)

Ricky You never were and never will be Biggie

No doubt! Even funnier is Ross doing the Biggie-like ad-libs(Ungh!)that he really JUST STARTED doing since he hooked up with Puffy… A travesty indeed… 50 was right…

      • http://xxlmag.com Wyz of Hip Hop since 99

so you feelin me on this Anon? and yeah the adlibs were VERY obvious ESPecially on Angels remix even tho Ross did merk the verses but be YOURSELF. You ain’t Biggie doohde. lol

    • swype-matic

I really never thought about it like that, but I see where you’re comin from. It’s pretty hilarious though, cause basically it’s Rick Ross rapping, then Ross writing Diddy’s verses, to sound just like HIMSELF. So technically it’s Ross’ 5th solo album under a different name.

  • poppadoc

Buggatti Boyz is code word for Booty Boys. Puff and Dick Ross are cold dick boys! and name just one Artist besides Biggie that puffy stood up for? thats bcus he knew that Bad Boy wasnt shit without Biggie.

  • John Cochran

Let’s stop with the Biggie comparisons already. Ross aint trying to be biggie. There were artists who’ve tried (Gorrila Black, Gravy) to capatalize off the fact that they looked like Big and it didnt work. They both make bangers, it’s a nice combo. Its probably something in Ross that inspires Diddy to get back on his Puff shit, which couldnt hurt cause he carried Bad Boy on his own after Big’s death with his ability to make people dance. It’s unfair to compare anyone to One of the greatest to ever do it.

    • Karim

There’s no comparison between Biggie and Ross at all… The thing is in my opinion is that Puffy is trying to desperately relive his biggie days through Ross…

    • http://xxlmag.com Wyzard of Hip Hip since 98

well fair enough and well said. But question, school me (NO sarcasm, I’m seriously curious) how did Gravy ‘try to be Biggie’? Jus b/c he was blessed to get the role of Biggie in a movie?? Thas kinda unfair dont’ you think? So pls eXplain b/c I’m sincerely interested to know. And Gorilla Black, I mean to me the guy was jus a one (half more like it lol) hit ‘wonder’ a lotta rappers come and go ESpecially from the left coast (Knocturnal anyone? Spider Loc, yuck mouth ect)and also beCAUSE he is from the Wess side I woulda thought the LAS person he would try to or want to coc ride is Biggie. So pls break that down for me about Gravy and G.Black. B E Z

      • http://www.bboycult.com Don mcCaine

To interject, Gravy was gettin’ that BIG buzz & talk when he was coming up in BK (before the shot in the ass thing).

I do agree that Puff’s trying to re-live his Biggie days thru Ross.

But I ain’t gonna lie, it’s an interesting pairing. Some good music can come outta this.

        • http://xxlmag.com Wyzard of HIp HIp since 98

OH I TOTALLY TOTALLY agree my man!! I’m a day one bad boy fan and basically a day one Ross fan (since Hustlin’ and Push it to the Limit – some of these ‘leaders of the new school’ prolly dont’ even remember either of those bangers, the “oldest” Ross song they know is prolly Speedin or his appearance in We Takin Over) and actually some bangin music has ALready come out of it jus look at Another One. And for that matter the Angel’s remix was fire. But thanX for the agreement and 2ndin’ me b/c its soo true. Diddy is tryin to relive his ‘Biggie’ days as you put it. I mean hell even down to re-”changin” his name bac to Puff Daddy, Im mean thats obvious. We are literally SEEIN his career/life mid life crisis before the cameras. BTW do you like Gravy? did you like the NOtorious movie?

I never said they tried to be Biggie, I said they tried to capatalize off the fact that they resemble the man, and obviously Gravy did cuz he played in a movie portraying Big, after which he fell off the face of the earth. And if you’ve ever heard Black talk, you would wonder why he used a “Biggie vioce” to rap. Ross has been out for a while now, and nobody started the comparisons till now. Why, cause he’s with Puff?? And how is the man trying to relive something, cause he’s hanging with another fat guy?? If I was him, I’d want to recreate it too, cause Big was his most, scratch that, his only successful rapper.

  • Q461

Guerilla Black is a one hit wonder who def tried to sound like Biggie.I never even heard Gravy rhyme, just knew he played Big in that movie, so I can’t say if he was tryin to be Biggie or not but I don’t think Rick Ross is trying to copy Biggie, they both just 2 fat dark niggaz, but Biggie a much better mc obviously I feel stupid even making the comparison lol, but I fucks with Ross.

Diddy =a fuckin leech, just tryin to snag some extra bucks and shine from Ross, who is doing well this moment.

    • http://www.bboycult.com Don mcCaine

      “never even heard Gravy rhyme”

      ^ * points to search icon *

should be able to find some press too…

WAS the next NY cat…UNTIL that “shooting”.

For the other cats in here:

It ain’t Ross tryin’ to be BIG. It’s Diddy being Puff Daddy again.

And if you look at this w/o all of that other stuff, this ain’t a bad duo. Floss up, talk $, Ross can get away from the D-boy delusions, get some Hollywood (real rich people) exposure. Puff is gonna try to do all of the ideas/stuff he couldn’t do with Big & Mase.

“technically it’s Ross’ 5th solo album under a different name.”

The Don def has a point!! And it is mainlly Puff. I mean Ross obviously has his own ID but lets not forget that he came out ORIGINALLY callin himself the “Biggie of the south” way before he even MET Diddy certainly b4 he got tight with him. SO You gotta blame Ross for a lotta that. As far as sound-a-likes and style Ross sound nothing like Biggie and I think Ross has a distinquished flow that is his own, two totally diff rap style and thats not comparing Big and Ross its differentiateing between them which is totally different. So yeah blame that one on Diddy. I think the general concencus is that nothin bad can come out of this, you agree Don? So Gravy was suppose to be the next big thing coming outta NY?? He is/was that hot?? Why didn’t he ever get a deal? whats this about a “shooting” and you put it in heavy quotations. What like shooting as in what happen to The real Biggie or shooting as in shooting behind movie cameras lol. yeah i’ma have to look all tha up lol. It seems like either way the nigga wuda gotten SOME push/spotlight/shine from the movie, but he got nothing but a check. I mean no appearance on the soundtrack, no singles not even an accompanying mixtape!!! Puff dropped the BALL on that, he could have /should have had a Bad Boy accomanying mixtape or straight up mainstream Label compilation to go with the hype of the movie. Junior Mafia, Lil Cease, Gravy, The Lox (all of them lol) Jay Z (if his ego allowed it, but he was Big’s friend so I think he woulda done it) NESS (whats that fool doin besides losin to Iron Solomon in battles lol) hell even Day 26 could have all been on that joint, hell maybe even Mase if he was interestd since he is currently on the ‘rap side’ of his career as oposed to preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ (like he shud be!) right now. I swear I should be in marketing I could be FLIPPIN some dollars my ideas are golden. An accompanying mixtape/Bad Boy Compilation/reunion album would have ONLY made SENSE with Notorious the movie, I mean am I the only one who knows the full meaning of the sayin “STRIKE while the IRON is HOT”

    • http://www.bboycult.com Don mcCaine

      What’s da biz Wyz?

Gravy’s whole original buzz came from “he sound/look like BIG”. There was even a bidding war for homie’s svcs.

Word on the street was that was a planted/premeditated shell in his gluteus (sp?), for promo. Hence my quotation marks, and the coincidental fall from favor for dude. The intangible to WTF? happened.

It would have been nice to hear a Gravy project, but we neva did. The movie was cool, but since Kim spoke up, it lost some credibility.

Puff should have paid Spike to do that movie justice, yet I commend Puff for not trying to portray that era in his own eyes though. I’m pretty sure he’s quite interested in his(tory) btw.

Cease gets a penalty flag for not realizing that he should have been a scribe instead of a weed carrier, for he would have purchased a camera instead of a chain.

But I don’t blame Puff for wanting to re-live his heyday. Ross has NOTHING TO LOSE doing this. Even I buy certain types of cloths to re-live my fun times. And let’s not front, Puff was throwing out HITS at this time in Hip Hop history.

Even ‘Bron did the “decision” with an anorexic Ross beard…

I see these 2 makin’ grown man, rich n^gga, aspire for greatness thru materialism interludes. Shouts to Baby for trying it 1st with Ross.

I know the JL is in the lab with a recipe, and I wanna hear it.

PUFF IS TRYING TO RELIVE HIS DAYS WITH BIGGE? THAT’S THE DUMBEST THING I’VE HEARD THIS YEAR. COMMON SENSE TELLS ME HE’S TRYING TO MAKE GOOD MUSIC AGAIN. WAS HE TRYING TO RELIVE HIS DAYS WITH TOTAL WHEN HE SIGNED DANITY KANE? PEOPLE IT’S ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC. DON’T FORGET THAT!
