Last week, up-and-coming New York rapper Ronald “Ra Diggs” Herron was arrested on federal drug charges, fingering him as a violent drug kingpin that allegedly ran a crack and heroin ring out of his Gowanus Housing projects in Brooklyn. Frequent collaborator Waka Flocka Flame, who recorded several songs with the MC, told XXLMag.com that he was shocked by the accusations.

Flocka—who included a song he recorded with Diggs and Uncle Murder (collectively known as the Murder Team) called “Live by the Gun” on his recently released album Flockaveli—said he thinks the BK rapper is innocent.

Although feds painted Diggs as a criminal boss in their indictment, Waka says that’s news to him. “I don’t know, he ain’t never showed that to me,” he said. “I just went out there, hung out on some regular shit, he ain’t never exposed that to me. I don’t know.”

If convicted Diggs can face life in prison.
