Breaking News: T.I. Ordered to Serve 11 Months for Probation Violation

The ruling is in; T.I. will be heading back to prison for violating his probation. According to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, the rap star has been ordered to serve 11 more months behind bars.

The multi-platinum selling MC appeared in court this afternoon (October 15), where U.S. District Judge Charles Pannell, Jr. handed down his decision. The Associated Press reports that Tip pleaded with the judge not to send him back to prison, and said he needed help for his addiction to drugs.

“I want drugs out of my life,” he told the judge, according to U.S. attorney spokesman Patrick Crosby. “If I can get the treatment and counseling I need … I can beat this. I need help. For me, my mother, my kids, I need the court to give me mercy.”

Tip was able to leave the courtroom with his family. As of press time it is unknown when he will be returning to jail.

As previously reported, the Grand Hustle general got into this legal situation when he was arrested on September 1 in West Hollywood and brought up on drug charges, along with his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, breaking the terms of his probation, stemming from his 2009 federal gun conviction. This incident occurred just five months after being released from federal custody.

“I’m tired, I’m wore out,” Tip told CNN on Thursday. “I don’t have the age, the energy, or just the attitude to move forward and continuing in this cycle in this ongoing process of destruction and disparity in my life. I’ve got too many depending on me and counting on me. I can’t do it.”

As previously reported, T.I. helped to talk a potential suicidal jumper down from a 22-story building earlier this week. As he was leaving his house, the ATLien was said to have heard about the incident on the radio and wanted to lend a helping hand. Soon after the incident, Tip denied allegations that it was a publicity stunt leading up to today’s hearing.
