Looks like more trouble is on the horizon for T.I. This time it may hit him in the pocket.
Following his recent arrest, where the rap star and his bride were stopped while driving in California and a controlled substance that later found to be ecstasy pills was discovered, T.I. has seen his public image tarnished once more. Now, a $10-million endorsement deal with AXE may be in jeopardy.
Earlier in the year, Tip signed on to be a headlining performer for the body spray manufacture’s AXE Music division. But in the wake of his recent arrest and potential parole violation, the company’s reps are reportedly “troubled” by recent developments are looking to review their dealings with the Atlanta rapper.
Most companies generally have morality clauses in their sponsorship deals and getting arrested for a controlled substance doesn’t exactly fit the criteria for “appropriate behavior.” It might be a matter of time before AXE cuts all ties with Tip. —Anslem Samuel
