B.o.B. is understandably amped up about his opportunity to open up for Jay-Z and Eminem at their four concert dates this month.

“This is like hip-hop Woodstock,” Bobby told XXLMag.com this morning, fresh off a sound check for tonight’s performance at Detroit’s Comerica Park, the first of back-to-back nights opening for the two heavyweights in Em’s hometown. The former XXL Freshman said that the possibility of his being added to the bill had been floated around for a while in the past, but it wasn’t confirmed until a few weeks ago.

“I’ve never seen Jay," he said excitedly. "Well, yeah—[but] it wasn’t a full show, it was like a radio show. But a full concert? This is my first time seeing Em and Jay in full concerts.” B.o.B. collaborated with Eminem for “Airplanes, Part II” on his debut album, B.O.B. Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray, and the two performed the track together at the BET Awards in June.

But watching two legends is far from the only reason that the ATLien is excited for this set of shows. “Thus far, this is the biggest crowd [I’ve performed in front of].”

After the next two night's performances in Detroit, the 2009 XXL Freshman alum will head to New York's Yankee Stadium for a pair of dates on September 13 and 14.  —Adam Fleischer
