Some may feel the mighty Wu-Tang Clan may not be in their prime anymore, but you can’t tell that to their fans. Performing in their New York hometown for the first time together in years, the Shaolin mega-group took to the Rock the Bells stage over the weekend to an overwhelming crowd reaction. It affected Raekwon so much, he told XXLMag.com he almost forgot where he was performing.

“I mean, when it comes to being in NY, I haven’t seen a crowd like that in a while,” he said. “I felt good being out there in my hometown and really representin’ ’cause you know, for a minute I caught a flashback and thought I was in Germany or Poland or somewhere ‘cause that’s how they get it up, too. But just to be back home in NY and see 25-30,000 people going crazy and really listening to the music it felt good, man. “

While the team was back in full affect, one man was obviously missing; the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard. Filling in for arguably the Clan’s wildest member was the deceased rapper’s son, Boy Jones, and according to the Chef, the young spitta looks like a carbon copy of his dad. [See below]

“That’s baby Scrappy Doo, right there,” Rae said. “Every time I see him, I see his father in him… Sometimes I find myself staring at him because he is really a spitting image of his father… It felt good to be out there with him.”

Following Saturday’s (August 28) show at Governor’s Island, the Wu appeared at Columbia, Maryland’s Post Theater for the last date of the Rock the Bells 2010 tour. —Jesse Gissen
