T.I. Album Pushback “Not Confirmed,” Rep Says

Over the weekend amazon.com changed the release date of T.I.’s upcoming album, King Uncaged, from August 17 to September 28. Yet it looks like the popular online superstore updated their files a little too soon.

When contacted by XXLMag.com, a rep for Atlantic Records said that no new dates have been confirmed at this time. Tip is currently finishing up his seventh studio effort, recently hitting the studio with Kid Rock, Lady Gaga and Eminem.

In related news, Tip will appear on cable network Fuse tonight (July 6) at 8 p.m. EST for an interview with renowned hip-hop journalist Toure. During the 30-minute sit-down, titled T.I.: On the Record With Fuse, the King of the South will discuss how he was treated in jail, his rights as an American citizen and his definition of keeping it real.

    For the record (if T.I. has a good business brain)…. The album will be pushed back. He just doesn’t have any good singles that are hitting the airwaves right now. What he has released sounds like 2008/2009 material. And it rightfully should sound like that since he has been incarcerated.

    The game has changed since he has been away. Not only that but THE TRUE RECESSION/RECOVERY has hit and niggas just aren’t buying that music unless it’s FIRE. T.I. is operating on that 2008/2009 business model.

    If he releases as planned he will take a huge hit. His best bet is to wait until September (BEFORE OR AFTER Kanye has released).

    I like T.I. But he needs to refocus. Coming out of the system is a rough process for a Hip-Hop artist. He should have released a couple of mix-tapes to announce his return properly.

    But… If he’s smart….. he will wait….

      I really don’t think the game has changed since 08, the game has changed since 03, i’d say its about where it was at in 08 really, if he hits the mark with a single or two, he will do at the very lest 350K, probably 500.

      Your right though, the window to get a single out there and get some hype going is getting smaller every day, but if an on point single came out on August 1st, the 17th is possible.

      Having said that, if i was a betting man i would put it on September.

      im buyin the album if it comes out 2moro ! MOST of us checkin 4 it, we want dat real shit, the market may have changed in da last year, but very little, n it aint much different from when he went plat. within da last 5 years, 2 or 3 times, it hasnt changed much if at all… he been doin his thing in the new climate, he came out in that climate, he knows what that is, it aint nothin new, n that shit dont even really matter…ya’ll soundin like u WANT it to come out later, dats cool, da fans n supporters dont…just come out when its RIGHT, n that takes time, it dont matter what anybody else is doing, good shit takes time… it dont matter what radio play it gets either really…know this: all the 1s we love the most didnt get much, IF ANY, radio play at all, then theres the 1s that did break thru n are also TIMELESS real music love dem too, but da 1s we love da most aint on da radio enough n r TIMELESS… good music aint determined by how much radio play it gets, i know u need that, but it FOR SURE aint what overall matters..most of da real shit we love in general aint on da radio enough…its what da streets want, n dats what pops in da end…he 4sure dont need 2 be n ISNT worried about what any other rapper is doing, if u think that is da case, u got it twisted, its really like (no disrespect or anything) to t.i. its fuck wat every1 else is doing, n hes tryin to bring it somewhere new too (as he should) he doin songs wit kid rock, lady gaga, gotta keep it progressin..dis is t.i. man we checkin 4 it… n p.s. u got “that mud that was slung all over you because of that high profile case you caught.” mistaken for “growing yourself as a man” “learning” “getting smarter n stronger” n really growing his name, really mostly just positive came out of dat case…anybody else (like an nfl, nba player) it would have hurt, not in dis case…all it did was make him stronger, period…n took da career to a wayyy bigger place… any1 judgin t.i. n thinkin he needs to “better his image” for his career aint da 1s i think hes worried about… listen to da music he made dat got him 2 where hes at 2day, gun filled music lol real life filled music, u think a gun case n real life situation gonna hurt him? …
