Shyne to Premiere New Song With Biggie & Bob Marley on XXL Tomorrow [With Video]

Shyne is ready to get back in the spotlight and tomorrow XXLMag.com will be world premiering the formerly incarcerated MC’s new song, named after his South American homeland, “Belize”

Featuring posthumous appearances from former Bad Boy label mate The Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z and Bob Marley, “Belize” finds Shyne Po rhyming over a laid back sample of the reggae legend’s track, “Sun is Shining.”

Peep a sneak peek of the song below, which showcases Shyne rapping a verse from the track, straight from his native land. “Listen, there’s a war on the streets, and there ain’t gonna be no peace ’til we all get a piece,” he spits in front of a local recording studio. [Watch below]

Shyne will be on cover of XXL’s new September issue hitting newsstands nationwide on August 10. This will mark the rapper’s first feature since being deported to Belize, after serving nine years behind bars on gun charges.

In the story the rapper reflects on his recently wrapped jail bid, life in Belize, his return to hip-hip, his devotion to Judaism and his relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs, his former boss.

    I’m quick to throw cold water on this move….

    I’m going to state the obvious. This dude’s voice reminds everyone of BIGGIE. So the last thing you want to do (if you are trying to pave the way for a long-term career) is remind everyone of how much you sound like him.

    It may be true that this dude had his flow before BIGGIE. Maybe Big just had the fortune of coming out first. BUT BIG BECAME BIG BEFORE SHYNE RELEASED TRACKS. And therefore, Big’s lane can only be occupied by BIGGIE.

    Now there will be a couple of cats to say,

    “Maybe he is releasing the track to show how different he is from BIG.”

    But that’s bullshit….

    Biggie isn’t alive. He isn’t releasing tracks. It’s not like he could go in the booth with Shyne and do a tag-team joint.

    Add on top of that that you don’t like Diddy (who does?) and Biggie was his right-hand man. And put the cherry on top with all of the rumors of PUFF TRYING TO RECREATE BIGGIE WITH RICK ROSS (I don’t necessarily agree with that one).

    THIS DUDE IS INTENTIONALLY TRYING TO CAPITALIZE OFF OF BIGGIE’S SIMILARITY TO HIM.

    And for that move? You get the finger.
