Raekwon Talks Possible Eminem Collaboration

The Chef and Slim Shady may have something to add onto the menu shortly. Raekwon told XXLMag.com that he met Eminem at Switzerland’s Openair Festival over the weekend and they discussed the possibility of working together.

Rae said it was the first time he met the Detroit lyricist and the two really hit it off. “He’s a good dude,” Rae said of Em. “I respect him as bein’ one of the top elites in the game and I respect him as being a man, too.”

The Wu-Tang MC shared that during their encounter they spoke on recording a song together. “We schemin’ and plottin’,” he said of the collaboration. “The last statement me and him left off on I was tellin’ him like, ‘Yo, you might need to make the beat’ and he gave me that look and we both walked away from each other like, ‘Word, you right, we might have to do that like that.’ So get ready man this is gonna happen soon.”

But first up for Rae is the release of C-N-N’s new album, The War Report 2: Report the War, on his Ice H20 imprint. The sequel to the group’s seminal 1997 debut is on shelves today. Along with Lex Diamonds, who appears on three tracks, the disc also features cameos from Busta Rhymes, Nas, The LOX and Faith Evans. —Jesse Gissen

    Where’s the Recovery review?

    • Anonymous

why are you still waiting on the recovery review? LOL. It’s been out for weeks, listen for yourself. you yourself as an individual is the only one that can truly give your own review. Why wait to hear what “others” say about it?

  • matthew

Eminem is targetting some of the heavy hitting hip-hop fans that Raekwon attracts. He might need to change his content a lil bit, but I know he’s gonna go hard. Probably the most exciting collab since Ems comeback.
He’s well on his way to being the best male artist on the planet again.

    • Anonymous

change his content? You apparently havent listen to much of eminem. Im guessing your one of the younger relapse/recovery em stans.

Before curtain call EM was a beast and spit that gangasta shit that would work with wu’s style.

  • Matthew

    Most anticipated collab for me.
OBFCL2 best album last year, Recovery this year.
Em wants some real hip-hop fans to add to his legions.

But Encore was the major fuck-up in 2005.

  • http://www.xxlmag.com/?p=85177 jay

em did spit that gangsta shit to.. n then slowly from eminem show(best album) he started gettin goofy n reformed into weird on relapse.. he went from crazy/gangsta..to goofy to weird all in one career lmaoo.. but em w rae n wu..ohhh man i would lovveeeee to hear that shit def..

n i agree em would need to change SOME content.. u cant have rae tellin stories how he do n rap about streets n then eminem hittin octomom w a sourpatch kid or gettin fuckin in his ass w ciggs burnin his neck or rapin a girl lolol ems crazy hah

BE…SOUNDS LIKE A SERPENT TO ME.. S.C. WUT
      UP..

  • DonStatus

    @Lloyd Sprayweather

Dude, what do you expect? That album got nothing but NY niggas on it. And we all know NY niggas aint got no flow. They got some alright lyrics but they just sound like bland yankees reciting some rhymes, talking on da track. Them down south niggas and niggas on da west coast know how to ride a beat.

There’s a few real niggas in NY, but mostly just a lot of greasy, italian wiggers who talk tough in groups of 20 but get real bitchmade without a huge clique of fuckboys.

  • sparkcity911

LIKE 2 DICKS AN YOU KNOW THAT SHIT DONT MIX.

    PEACE TO SHALLAH RAEKWON

Shit would go hard and with Em on the beat Im sure it would be crazy. The last time Em did a beat with a N.Y. cat it was renegade with Jay and we all know how that turned out.Now if they get Meth on the track with Em and Rae than its a rap, song would be epic as hell.

    • BigDogra

Wrong. Last time he did a beat with a NY rapper was Moment of Clarity with Jay-Z.

    • BigDogra

Wrong. Last time he did a beat with a NY rapper was Moment of Clarity with Jay-Z off The Black Album.

  • http://www.myspace.com/slotchmusic ms_spittuh

Hell yes! This would be nice! :) He getting that Wu audience I like that!

  • Mitch 3k

Should be crazy, I wanna see Ghost hop on it too for good measure, a 16 a piece from all 3 would be crazy. If they gonna do it just the 2 of them though they should make it a back and forth thing………Either way this collabo has fresh written all over it, Rae is the top guy in the Wu right now, and Em is back on point so this has the makings of a “Renegade” level smash written all over it

  • Black Benji

I thought Pitchfork gave the most honest and intelligent review of Eminems Recovery album, and his overall return to rap.

ahh man that would be dopee..

this is a dream come true for real hiphop fans.

  • Magnetic

@DonStatus, I bet you won’t go to NYC talking that shit.

On another note honestly, all due respect to Em, but I can’t fuck with him because I think his beats are horrible. I bet if he had better production he would go 100x harder than he already does. Fucking with Rae that may happen. As for Rae, I would love to see that brother get that kinda money that Em getting. He def deserves it.

Em has some nice beats, but sometimes he misses. Those two beats with Jay Z were nice as hell. That beat he gave to Trick Trick was nice too. I believe the song is Crazy.

  • fukinstupid!!!!
