If you listen to his music and hear him tell it, you know that 50 Cent was caught in the street life growing up. Now, by holding Forever Young Day, he’s doing what he can to make sure local New York kids don’t face the same predicament he did.

According to the New York's Daily News, FIf will host a six-hour event at Baisley Park in the rapper's native Queens this Saturday (June 26). The G-Unit front man will not perform at Forever Young Day, though, saying he has spoken with police to ensure that there is the necessary level of security to avoid a situation similar to the one at Drake’s scheduled appearance at South Street Seaport earlier this month.

“I want to be able to go and talk to them and [have] them really feel what my experience has been,” he said of why he is holding a day for the youth. 50 said that he tried to hold a similar event last year, but it never happened because of safety concerns.
