Duck Down to Choose Winning MC in 2K Sports Rap Competition

As previously reported Duck Down Music and 2K Sports have teamed up to offer up-and-coming artists the chance to appear on the upcoming soundtrack for the NBA 2K11 video game.

Reps for both companies have already selected the ten best instrumentals from aspiring producers out of the 500-plus submissions. Out of those 10 the public chose one overall winner, San, Antonio, Texas contestant, Bay Root Productions.

Now fans will get a chance to listen to all the MC's before a winner is chosen. Duck Down and 2K Sports have narrowed down the competition to the 11 best lyricists. Fans can listen to all the applicants here. The winning rapper will be announced on May 11.

Grand prize winners will have their song placed on the soundtrack for the upcoming NBA 2K11. They will also receive an all-expense paid trip to New York City, where they will have the special opportunity to perform the song live at Duck Down’s CMJ Showcase in October 2010.
