Game revealed to XXLMag.com that he coughed of somewhere between $20,000 and $30,000 to settle a lawsuit that stemmed from an alleged 2007 incident during a basketball game in Los Angeles.
As previously reported, the plaintiff, Shannon Rodrick, claimed that The Doctor’s Advocate hit him and then threatened him with a gun at a pickup game Although Game already served eight days in prison for the charges in 2008, Rodrick, filed a suit against the West Coast MC seeking an undisclosed amount in damages.
“I settled that for a couple stacks,” Game casually admitted to XXL. “About $20, $30 G’s nothing serious.”
The Compton-bred MC said he’s glad all of that is finally behind him now, so he can focus on his upcoming LP, The R.E.D. Album. Scheduled to drop on June 15— the same date as Young Money rising star Drake’s debut Thank Me Later—the disc is executive produced by Pharrell Williams of The Neptunes and features appearances by Justin Timberlake and Dr. Dre, among others. —Brooklyne Gipson
