E1 Music announced today (March 29) that they signed Fat Joe to their roster.

The new deal ends Joey's distribution deal with EMI, which released his last three albums 2006's Me, Myself and I, 2008's The Elephant in the Room and 2009's Jealous Ones Still Envy 2.

“It’s been a long time coming,” Fat Joe said in a statement. “I have a long history with Alan Grunblatt and everyone at E1. Although it’s a small label, they have the best marketing and promotion staff in the hip-hop game and I’m looking forward to working with then on my new album, The Dark Side.”

The LP is expected to be in stores June 28. The first single off the disc is “Slow Down” featuring Jeezy. —Brooklyne Gipson
