Back in July, OutKast rapper Big Boi announced that he would be leaving his longtime label Jive Records and joining the Def Jam roster under the tutelage of his former boss, L.A. Reid.

Last summer, the Atlanta MC told Toronto’s Eye Weekly that he was on the verge of signing a deal with the legendary hip-hop label and it was just a matter of time before it was official. “The lawyers just have to finish their lawyering,” he said.

Five months later and there has been no word on Big Boi’s label status. XXLMag.com recently spoke to Big’s publicist, who said the ATLien is still with Jive. Apparently the label now plans to release his long delayed disc, Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty in February 2010. —Max G
