Rocwilder Hosts $30,000 Battle for Aspiring Producers & MCs

Beat Kangz Electronics has teamed up with Rockwilder to host the “Kang of All Battles” -a competition where one up-and-coming producer and one aspiring rapper will have the chance to win a grand prize, valued at $30,000 each.

The contest is being held to promote Beat Thang and Beat Thang Virtual beat-making machines. Anyone that purchases either of these two systems is automatically registered for the contest. Prizes will be awarded to the artists that produce the hottest beat using the new equipment and spit the best rhymes over a Beat Thang track.

Winners will receive $10,000 in cash, a full page ad and promotion in XXL magazine, your own customized Beat Thang system, tickets for you and a guest to the BET Hip Hop Honors, you own Playa Thang iPhone app loaded with your songs, and an all expenses paid trip to Nashville for a meeting with Rockwilder, producer Bob Ezrin and The Beat Kangz.

“… Beat Thang Virtual beat-making machines.”

I’ve heard of MP’s, Akai’s, Yamaha’s, etc. Now, could someone tell me what a “virtual beak-making machine” is?

its the top dawg of the music prod industry

this shit is a joke, who the fuck uses a “beat thang”

I actually vouch for the Beat Thang. I watched an online demo on YouTube and this product has some pretty serious preset sounds for $150. 16 tracks, samplers, works with workstation keyboards (bonus for me) and/or your laptop (yuck). I haven’t made a beat in 9 years but if I ever do get back into it, Beat Thang will be a part of my arsenal.

If you know what you’re doing, you can save some serious studio time money and make some serious heat with this thing at home.

the biggest news that came out of this is the “BET Hip Hop Honors”. did VH1 officially hand it down to BET, or was that just a typo?
