Pill Wants to Reunite Young Jeezy & Gucci Mane on “Trap Goin’ Ham (Remix)”

Forget about nuts, XXL Show & Prove candidate Pill has the Internet goin’ ham. Throughout this week alone he has leaked two new tracks, one with Gary, Indiana up-and-comer Freddie Gibbs called “Womb 2 the Tomb” and another produced by Tha Bizness (50 Cent, Young Money) dubbed “Hear Somebody Comin’.” Yet the question remains, how come he hasn’t released a remix for the song that put him on the map, “Trap Goin’ Ham?”

XXLMag.com recently chopped it up with the ATL rapper to find out what his plans are for the song and who he would like to get on the remix.

“I don’t mind [doing] a remix but it’s gotta be a good look,” he said. “People been saying they fuck with it, saying they wanna jump on it, but I gotta actually like the artist whose gonna jump on it. “

When asked who he would love to hear on the track, Pill had high hopes. “On some trap shit, that would [sound] good on a tempo like that, you gotta throw the boy Jeezy on there,” he said. “You know what a dream record would be [though]? Me, Jeezy and Gucci. To see both of them on a record, that would be a dream but you know that’s not gonna happen. I mean, them two good dudes, they kick that good street shit. I got much respect for both of them, and I would love to cut a record with either of them individually [as well].”

In the meantime Pill is gearing up to release his new mixtape, 4074: The Refill for November 17. —Jesse Gissen

Never heard of dude, but that song was pretty sick. Video was tight too. What are some other good songs from dude.

  • $ykotic/Don McCaine

    Song is entertaining.

The video is a horrible look for black kinfolk.

All it showed was that hood has no future, and them kids will only repeat the same mistakes.

Can y’all rappers at least one time show the hood in a different perspective? It would be nice…

    • Detroit P

$yk, something about your comment irks me, I get what you’re saying…but I heard with making this video, alot of the footage is just them taking the camera around on some documentary shit and filming that stuff…as in the crackheads are real, the girl dancin came outta nowhere and wanted to dance on camera..all those people are real living in their environments…its not showing anything about the future or that other condescending stuff you wrote, it just shows that in the present the ghetto exists…you’re basically sayin being poor is a bad look for black folk, which is true of anybody, but its a reality and one that people outside of the ghetto need to constantly be reminded of, or else they’ll ignore it, save when they come in contact with it, then they’ll just look down their noses at it.

      • $ykotic/Don McCaine

Cut it out with that nonsense I’m looking down on poor black people. You’re outta your mind with that.

I said it was a bad look for THAT hood. F*** the exploitation of that hood for the video, them peeps need some real help.

That’s a reality too. The same reality as a mom going to work everyday living in the hood. Even THAT hood.

You know & knew exactly what I was saying.

        • Detroit P

“The video is a horrible look for black kinfolk.”
          ^^
Thats what you said…I didn’t know what you meant to say, so my bad.

        • $ykotic/Don McCaine

One line doesn’t define the entire statement, but it’s all good.

          PEACE

      • $ykotic/Don McCaine

        BTW good perspective Maurice.

I saw the real in it from the door, that’s why I made that statement. Now I’m even more disturbed by the look.

XXL should have/could have posted that information instead of the GOSSIP of trying to unite 2 rich enemies. They could’ve used the feature section and WE the people could have had a REAL discussion about these social ills.

This post TOTALLY takes away from the video showing a community that needs help.

Thanks Detroit P for widening the statement to bring this out. Thankfully I saw the tragedy to say something in the 1st place or this would have been a dead thread.

        XXL y’all get a SUPER-SIZED L for this one.

  • BIGNAT

Detroit P you made some good points homie as with all bad things in this world. you have to remember that it exist and to never forget about it. plus if the hood is your reality then he is just showing what his normal day is.

  • http://ME REGO

the fed’S are watching dis video….
nigga is trying to be hard, i see kids and the young girl doing the freaky dance.. OBAMA is right, BLACK PEOPLE WE NEED TO GROW UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITIES FOR OUR ACTIONS..

NAS AND JAY-Z IS RIGHT. HIPHOP IS DEATH…

DA RAP GAME IS ALL ABOUT LYRICE AND YOUR STYLE.

  • brand-new

damn newport’s are only 4.50 a pack there…it’s almost double that here in n.y…..anyway the trap goin ham, make the trap say aye, blah blah blah. this trap/wanna be drug dealer shit is getting played out.

    • nicholasdelorejo

I gotta cosign with brand-new. It seems like every trapper always release a song about how they doing big drug numbers while living in their mother’s basement. I really can’t find anything about Pill that differentiates him from Gucci, OJ, Jeezy, Ross, or the numerous trap rappers in both their topics or stlye. Not saying he’s not sincere in his approach. Just saying that as of now I don’t see anything that any other trapper rapper can’t provide.

  • JOJO

andre 3000 IS AN ICON IN DA RAP GAME…WHY IN THE HELL WILL HE BRING HE’S SELF DOWN THAT WAY..SIGNING A NIGGA THAT CAN’T RAP…

andre 3000 WILL U LET UR DAUGHTER DANCE IN A VIDEO LIKE THAT?

  • http://Www.nahright.com E-Money

Jeezy and Gucci on the same track??

  • TheCoolest

Great, this is just what we need. More Music videos of girls shaking their asses,a bunch of guys pretending like the got money and actin like they move weight.

It’s because of videos like this white folks don’t respect Hip Hop or the Black Community….

    (Andre 3000,seriously ,the fuck????)

NIGGAZ ALWAYZ TALKIN SHIT, ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE DOIN TO MAKE THE BLACK COMMUNITY LOOK BAD, WHAT FUK U DOING TO MAKE IT BETTER? NOT A DAMN THANG. THE SAME PEOPLE THAT’S TALK ABOUT THIS VIDEO IS THE ONES THAT’S SCARED TO GO THE HOOD CAUSE THEY NEVER REALLY LIVE THEIR. THE VIDEO IS A REALITY FOR SOME, THAT’S LIVING THAT EVERY DAY. THIS VIDEO IS NOT BEING PLAY ON NO MAJOR NETWORK SO WHAT THE BIG PROBLEM. IT’S NO LIKE THE VIDEOS U SEE ON MTV&BET THAT’S FAR FROM REALITY DIS IS VIDEO MOST NEEDED REALITY CHECK. THESE RAPPER JUST WANT TO MAKE THAT ALL TO FEED THEIR FAMILYS AND IT AINT NOTHING WRONG THAT. IT BETTER FOR THEM TO RAP THEN TO SELL DOPE, GETT KILLED IN STREETS,OR GO JAIL. I WOULD LOVE SEE JEEZY&GUCCI START MAKE MUSIC AGAIN I THINK IT BE GO LOOK FOR HIPHOP AND THEIR FANZ.

    • $ykotic/Don McCaine

My statements about this clearly went over your head.

If you’re upset because a hood n*gga felt bad for THAT hood & feels like they wanna do something to help, then stay upset.

And you are right, n*ggas are always talking sh*t.

I do for my hood. Do you?

  • clos1881

@thecoolest Why do feel as though black people need acceptance from white people? In the song he doesnt make it sound like he is a kingpin, he’s just letting you know what his hood’s like.

  • nicholasdelorejo

I see what you guys are saying and your right the hood is a reality. But here’s the thing when did the hood limit itself to just drug dealing, crackheads, and prostitution. Aren’t there folks that live in the hood with jobs, making ends meet, trying to live a life without the negativity. That’s also a reality too. My thing is rappers keep giving the negative perspective of the hood and not showing the alternative. Do you think someone who lives in the hood and would think about trying to make it better if they see nothing but videos full of the bad shit present. I don’t think so. Also when did hip hop become a charity case for young men in the street. That’s my problem with rap now. Everyone is treating it as a hustle and not as a form of music. Yeah some rappers in the past like Big came from that lifestyle. But if Big sucked balls back then do you think people would go “yeah but at least he’s not selling drugs anymore or in jail.” No. If that’s the case then rap needs to hook up with the NAACP or UNCF to help these dudes out of the street more. Cause clearly no one wants to treat rap as a form of music anymore.

    • $ykotic/Don McCaine

Co-sign. This is what I’m saying.

  • clos1881

@Nicholas you have some good points, but just because an artist doesn’t make the kind of music you like doesn’t mean its not good, or its not art.
