Win a Copy of the New Boyz’s Debut Album

With the debut album by the Los Angeles group the New Boyz hitting stores this week, XXLMag.com got its hands a 20 copies to give away to our readers.

The New Boyz—consisting of teen friends Earl “Ben J” Benjamin and Dominic “Legacy” Thomas—are the first major group to come out of South L.A.’s bourgeoning Jerkin’ scene. Their first single, “You’re a Jerk,” is currently burning up the charts peaking on the Billboard Hot Rap Tracks at no. 4 and has spawned hundreds of YouTube videos of fans displaying their own dance moves.

In fact just recently news was announced of a movie documenting the Jerkin’dance movement. The same team behind the Mike Epps and Mos Def-starred comedy Next Day Air is set to produce the as-yet-untitled film.

    Okay, I live in L.A. South Central, if there’s technically such a thing. The politically correct term is ‘south Los Angeles’.

    But anyway, there’s no fucking jerk scene out here. Unless it’s a chicken restaurant. There is, however, a bunch of young ass, too much weed smoking, ADD having ass kids who ride skateboards to bus stops & dance like their pants are trying to strangle their thighs.

    but i think it’s sad that so many posters are calling them gay. clothes don’t make anybody gay.

    some of your fathers were wearing tight jeans in the late 60′s and 70′s. fitted jeans in the 80′s. baggy jeans got cool in the 90′s.

      Straight leg cut and skinny cut are different. Back in those days, there were no baggy or loose cuts. One cut for ALL.

      AND MOST PANTS THAT WERE WORN WERE SLACKS(GABERDEEN,TAILORED,LEATHER), NOT JEANS.

      JEANS BECAME FASHION IN LATE LATE 70′S EARLY 80′S(JORDACHE,SERGIO’S,GUESS,CALVIN KLEIN, ETC) AND THEY WERE NOT TIGHT LIKE WHAT THEY ARE NOW.
      WE WORE MORE SWEATSUITS(ADIDAS/TACCHINI/FILA/ELLESSE/PONY, ETC) THAN JEANS THEN. Most of the jeans were FLAIR BOTTOM, because the FARMERS AND COWBOYS WORE THEM. So we went to the cleaners and had them TAKEN IN TO SHOW THE KICKS. They never measured “inseams”, or length, just waist.

      AND LEE COLORED “JEANS” WERE MORE OF THE DICKIE’S FABRIC THAN DENIM.

      DON’T BLAME THIS FAD ON US WE DIDN’T WEAR PURPLE, TEAL, FUSCHIA PINK, ORANGE OR POWDER BLUE JEANS.

      AND TRUST ME CATS GOT CLOWNED BACK THEN FOR WEARING TOO TIGHT OF A JEAN(EITHER THEY WERE WEARING THEIR LITTLE BROTHERS/SISTER’S CLOTHES, OR WERE COMING OUT THE CLOSET). Don’t forget they passed civil laws to protect gays because they got 2-pieced on GP on the regular, ESPECIALLY BACK THEN.

      There were more dudes then who had on HIGH-WATER trousers than tight ones.

      And I know 4 people who work in different retail stores NOW and they tell me ALL of the time:

      THESE CATS TRY ON/BUY WOMEN’S JEANS ON THE REGULAR FOR TIGHTNESS AND COLORS TO STAY WITH THE “FAD”.
