Jay-Z’s BP3 Projected to Sell 300-350K in First Week Sales

Jay-Z is on track to get his eleventh no. 1 album according to industry insider Hits Daily Double.

After the site has tabulated their one-day sales figures they have projected Hov’s latest project, The Blueprint 3, to sell anywhere between 300,000 to 350,000 in its first week. Originally set to be released on Friday, September 11, the anniversary of his first Blueprint album, the disc was moved up after it leaked prematurely on the internet.

Also set to make a big debut on The Billboard 200 next week is Wu-Tang standout Raekwon. The Chef’s follow up to 1995’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, is projected to move around 55-60,000 CDs. OB4CL2 currently holds the no. 1 spot on the iTunes’ Top Albums list.

REAL HATE!….Blueprint 3 make EM WAYNE DRAKE & all these other rappers look seriously sub par…..the wackest shit on the cd was the drake & the jeezy shit….didnt really care for the venus vs mars shit but it’s tolerable….Other than that hands down album of the year….the empire state of mind shit is sick & the thank you & the on to the next shit is as well…stop hating on Jay & give the man credit damn!

    The music industry is real fucked up when Hov doesn’t go gold his 1st week. 1st Em struggles to go 2x platinum now this. The BP3 is actually a good album, not great but good. Better than the Carter 3,2 or 1.

    Rae might have shot himself in the foot. Best Buy was SOLD OUT of OB4CL2 but they had boxes of BP3 on top and below the display. I had to go to Target to get mine and they only had about 5 left. Rae could have easily done 100K if they shipped more.

    We all knew Jay would do big numbers its no suprise.

    But like I was saying earlier they undershipped the Purple Tape. I went to 3 best buy locations and they were sold out then one of the store associates told me they only had 10 copies shipped in. The best buy with the most copies only had 20. Mind you this in fucking Manhattan New York! Thats fucking sad.

    They did not even give him a chance to get the #1 album and I think thats fucked up.

    I did get a copy at Target though one of the last 2 left I was gonna buy both but I thought to myself some young dude might be huntin for it like I was.

    At the largest store in SF- (Amoeba) they did not have 1 copy of Rae’s…

    I bought that RAEKWON, but I dont think i can give JAY my 9.99$, he short changing us. I aint going!! And im not a hater, im just not a follower, i cant be lead into buying that, besides that ONLY BUILT FOR CUBAN LINX is actually the BLUEPRINT, alot of rappers started having two names after that joint before that it wasnt no MAKAVELLI, only TUPAC, there was no FRANK WHITE only NOTORIOUS BIG, check the cronology.     I haven’t heard either album in its entirety but from what I’ve heard so far, Chef’s joint is smashin’ BP3, at least production wise.i think Hov will do at least 400, even in this shitty climate. EMI needs to be goin’ harder with Rae’s promotion, although I have been seein’ commercials with that annoyin’ ass Funkmaster Flex doin’ voiceovers. If Rae does those projected numbers, that wouldn’t be bad at all but he better go gold. SUPPORT GOOD MUSIC!!!!

    Niggas be hatin. I bought both cds. Jay’s got a good album but not great…in no way is it terrible. Rae’s album is good as well, but in no way is it “smashin” BP3. i mean come on now…this nigga named it OBFCL2. In no way shape or form is it anywhere close to the original. The new shit is like light from a match while the original is like the fuckin sun. You could say the same for BP3, but by no means is it terrible. I’m satisfied with both. Tossup for album of the year (so far) between those 2, Relapse, and Blackout 2. Anyone heard Beans new shit? I aint even know his shit dropped yesterday. I didnt even see it in Target.

    That being said, for being older, its a damn shame that u have not learned that taking your time on a project will have better results.

    OBFCL2 Is fire because it has: Great production, every artist on it going hard, a great all round sound.

    BP3 is fire because: Every mother fucker that bought that shit will be BURNING it for there friends to be disappointed too.

    to me, BP3 is the album Kingdom Come SHOULD have been. some of the beats are awful, but cmon, most of those songs are chock-full of good punches and more importantly: CONTENT. it aint no classic, but i find myself only skipping one song (off that) and only sorta-liking two more (venus v. mars and hate). the rest are good tracks and its jiggas 5th best cd, behind four (un)disputed classics.

    that said, that raekwon shit is unbelievable. im a young dude so i just got into OB4CL about a year ago but damn, this shit is nuts! wu-tang + dilla beat? are you fucking kidding me!??! doesnt get much better than that.

    ob4cl2 is fire, straight up! i got my copy and i’ve been bumping that shit ever since then. seriously, it’s the best album to come out so far this year, bp3 can’t even touch it as far as the quality is concerned. now, bp3 will definitely do better numbers because it’s a jay-z joint, but that don’t mean that it’s a better album. besides that, bp3 got mad hype the last few months, just like relapse did, and so for that alone it will do big numbers.
