Jay-Z is expected to announce a hometown benefit concert later today (August 24), The New York Times reports.

According to the paper, Hov plans on performing at Madison Square Garden on September 11, the day that his new record, The Blueprint 3, hits shelves. Proceeds from the show will go to the New York Police and Fire's Widows’s and Children’s Benefit Fund.

The concert will air on the Fuse cable network. As of press time it is uncertain how fans can purchase tickets.

In related news, two tracks were recently leaked from Jay’s upcoming album. Both songs, “We Off That” featuring Toronto-upstart Drake and “Reminder,” were produced by Timbaland. Other collaborators confirmed for BP3 include Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Swizz Beatz, Alicia Keys, J. Cole and Pharrell, among others. –Max G
