Raekwon’s OB4CL2 Pushed Back to September

Wu-Tang fans hungry for Raekwon The Chef’s long-awaited Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II will have to wait just a little longer.

The sequel to Rae’s fourth solo project will now hit stores on September 8, not August 11, as originally scheduled.

“OB4CL2 is still on deck!!!” Rae wrote last night, via his Twitter account (twitter.com/raekwonicewater). “Had to clear the sample issues.”

The cover photography for the album debuted today on missinfo.tv. Lensman Danny Hastings—who also shot the artwork for Rae’s 1995 classic Only Built 4 Cuban Linx—recreated the iconic original shot, adding a purple tint as homage to the original’s nickname of “The Purple Tape.”

Raekwon’s teamed up with DJ Absolut to drop the Blood on Chef’s Apron mixtape back in May. –John Kennedy
