Chuck D is using science to discover hit records, aligning with music marketing website uplaya.com.

The website, introduced in June by global digital media company Music Intelligence Solutions, offers instant feedback on music of all genres, measuring mainstream potential.

“Online services have helped address the 'availability' problem for music, but consumers and artists are still frustrated by a lack of visibility to easily connect great artists with potential fans,” Chuck D, an advisor to Uplaya. Told XXLMag.com. "Music Intelligence Solutions can solve the visibility problem better than any technology that I have seen."

Uplaya’s patented Hit Song Science and Music Universe technology uses mathematical algorithms to analyze music patterns. The system has been used by record labels fishing for singles for the past four years, but is now finally available for public use.

“There are more than 12 million artists on the web looking to get their music exposed to the masses,” said David Meredith, CEO of Uplaya’s parent company. “Uplaya serves as a viable tool to help artists create better music and inspire creativity without making artist feel they need to recycle their sound to make hit music.”

Chuck D has long been on the cusp of music on the Internet. The Public Enemy frontman publicly embraced file-sharing ten years ago, also launching his website, rapstation.com, in September 1999. -John Kennedy
