Brother Ali is hitting the road for a national tour to promote his upcoming solo album, Us, due in September.
The North American, Fresh Air Tour kicks off in Duluth, Minnesota on September 22, the same day Us hits stores. The follow-up to 2007’s sociopolitical The Undisputed Truth, Ali’s fourth album is more introspective take on topics like drug abuse, divorce and homophobia, according to a Rhymesayers press release.
The album will feature beats by longtime collaborator Ant, and guest appearances by legendary Public Enemy front man Chuck D, Freeway and Joell Ortiz.
Tickets for the national tour go on sale on Saturday (August 1). Recent Rhymesayers signee Evidence, BK One and Toki will be joining Brother Ali on the tour, which concludes in Ali’s hometown of Minneapolis on November 20. –John Kennedy
