XXcLusive: Fabolous & The-Dream Grace The New Cover of XXL

Def Jam stars Fabolous and The-Dream have joined forces for the new issue of XXL for The Hip-Hop Soul Issue.

The August edition of the number one music magazine will focus on the connection between hip-hop and R&B. In addition to interviews with Loso and Dream (with a guest appearence from his boo, Christian Milian), the issue will also include an essay on the history of hip-hop soul, the making of some of hip-hop soul’s smash hits, including the biggest of all time, Method Man and Mary J. Blige’s “I’ll Be There for You/You’re All I Need to Get By.”

There’s also a package featuring the Top 10 Hip-Hop Soul singers, songwriters and producers to look out for in 2010, an in-depth profile on Black Thought and much more.

The August issue of XXL hits stands on July 7.- Elan Macini

So Dream dumped Christian Milian for Fabo? She is in the new maxim talking about nick cannon and kissing matthew mcconaughey.

  • Mutada al sader the king

Dream is an R-Kelly clone, but he makes good records and is a beast with the writting.

“Fag”-u-lust? One of the best lyricists to come out of NY in the last 10 years, one of the few holding NY down.. He’s gotten a tad bit lazy since the last album, but the boy is no slouch on the lyrics, knows his lane, and knows how to stay on then radio

  • Mr.Randy

so real talk, it should be an issue about how hip hop went down the toilet….

  • Dr Flav

Is there going to big a big deal made about this cover, this month?

Will Dream’s appearance on the cover be questioned?

Will bloggers argue Fabulous’ “relevancy” in today’s market?

Is this the R&B, i.e. “rap and bullshit” cover of XXL Mag?

Do they ask Dream does he pinch his nose to produce such chart topping nasal constricted notes?

Is this cover > last month’s is so, then why?

So many question’s, so many fruity-flavored answers and arguements.

  • Mutada al sader the king

^No, but you’ll see quite a few arguments for XXL to give the cover to some obscure underground rapper only know to said blogger or to give the cover to some old washed up, non relevant MC, that said blogger still clings to.

    • Dr Flav

“some obscure underground rapper only know to said blogger”

So you mean next XXL mag cover is going to be Joe Budden?

“give the cover to some old washed up, non relevant MC, that said blogger still clings to.”

      Fabolous aint him?

      LOL

  • k.ing

covers are gettin wack… i guest jeezy is next111

  • Nate

Faboulous is a BIG step up from the losers on the last cover. He is a proven MC, and can show and prove on all fronts lyrically, commerically, and has a fan base of both sexes.

He is a good cover because he doesn’t need the ICE, and jewelry to be a factor. The faggots you had last time are nothing without their ice and their dances.

  • $ykotic

I’ve been following XXL since the jump.

BUT PUT SLAUGHTERHOUSE ON YOU’RE COVER AND I WILL HAVE YOU’RE BACK FOREVER!

    COMMISSION!

    • DV8

or any MC of that ilk for that matter

  • EReal

What the hell is the dream’s shirt all about?

    so homo.

  • shaffaaf27

u need SH on your august cover, as thats the month where hiphop is born again.

  • Federal Ranga

COMMISSION!!! Wait… I don’t think I’m part of that… Heh heh. Silly me.

What’s good, $yk? I am still waiting for you to hook ya boy up with that iMovie… but nonetheless… I can’t cosign on a Slaughterhouse cover, homey… for me itd be like the Flavor of Love girls getting the cover or King a few years back. Yeah, that shit look hot at first until you start reading and see only what you been observing for the longest…

Now, I hope the Slaugterhouse project succeeds, but I can’t fathom a cover with these guys.

    • $ykotic

      Ranga!

I need blank DVD’s(no dry snitching, somewhat).

But the Slaughterhouse thing is my way of telling Vanessa(EIC of XXL) to not forget the underdog.

Because we know A DRAKE COVER IS COMING!

  • Ed

Bad Omen here…Covers like this was the beginning of the end for Scratch

  • KOBBY

    give it up for loso

  • Nate

If you had to have a “group” cover Slaughterhouse, Strong Arm Steady or Pac Div would suffice because they are current, talented and have fan backing and buzz.Mag covers are supposed to reflect that. Nothing obscure about them, unless you just got out of a long term bid.

So in other words better than throwing the Wu or other disbanded groups on there.

At least this cover is better than the last one.

  • Nate

NO somebody from a small city in the southeast or northeast is gonna ask, “Who the hell is Pac Division or Strong Arm Steady??” Well go back to your XXL, Ozone, or Source back issues and read up…

  • Hip Hop

This should have had some coverage on the group The Foreign Exchange
