While authorities are looking into a possible connect between Suge Knight catching a beatdown during All-Star weekend and the robbery of Akon’s producer Details’s home by alleged Knight associates, the crooner has chalked up the link as “speculation,” when speaking to XXLMag.com.

“Well I think it’s under investigation now,” Akon told XXL about the progress of the case. “Nobody can really come to or see if it’s really tied to it. It was a whole bunch of speculation because of the event that happened during the All-Star weekend. Even now the investigation is still ongoing but as soon as I get some proper information that’s actually accurate then I’ll be able to give you more answers on it. But right now I don’t even know if it’s related.”

In March, armed gunmen stole $300,000 worth of items from Detail’s home, including $170,000 worth of jewelry as part of a debt owed to Suge by the producer, according to Christopher Walker, who both lives and works with Detail. The robbery came a month after a member of Akon’s entourage assaulted Suge over the same debt.

“Honestly I wouldn’t have a clue of who owes [Suge] or what, but that’s always been his tactic though,” Akon told XXL at the time of the robbery. “Everybody owes him…but I still want to get to the bottom of it and see what’s really going down.” - Devin Chanda
