M.O.P. Prep Foundation, Recruit Busta Rhymes & Beanie Sigel For New Disc

Brooklyn duo M.O.P. will be releasing their new studio album, Foundation, on E1 Music (formerly known as Koch Records)/Blaze this June.

The disc will feature collaborations with Beanie Sigel, Redman Styles P, and Busta Rhymes, who will appear on the first single “Blow The Horns.” The video for the song is set to debut soon, with a video, shot in New York, soon to follow.

E1 Music General Manager Alan Grunblatt is excited about Billy Danze and Lil Fame’s latest effort. “M.O.P. is one of the greatest hip-hop groups of all time,” he said in a statement. “I was fortunate to sign them when I was running Relativity and am thrilled to be working with Billy, Fame and Laze again.”

“Thanks to Alan for believing in us and allowing us to do our thing,” Danze added. “This is a big thing for us and a big thing for hip-hop. Right now, hip-hop needs M.O.P. It needs the foundation.”

Adding to a growing list of releases on E1, rapper/producer The Alchemist and super group Slaughterhouse will also be dropping albums on the label on July 7.

Foundation hits shelves on June 30. M.O.P. will also be rocking the Rock the Bells tour and are currently prepping their new website MOPUniverse.com in the coming weeks. – Elan Mancini

QUESTION OF THE DAY: WHO WOULD INVEST $$$ M.O.P. & EXPECT TO MAKE ANYTHING BACK?

    • $ykotic

      E1.

XXL had 2 blog drops in the last 2 months(Fight Club, other can’t remember) where the majority of comments spoke about MOP.

Bet the label saw that. I KEEP TELLING YA’LL THEY ARE WATCHING US!

      They weren’t a good fit for G-Unit.

And really what difference does their age make? Does that mean they can’t write a rhyme? Because these guys are the business.

  • Part2wo

And the good news just keeps on coming…

E1 is on the ball this year! And on a different site I read that Tha Alkaholiks are unretired and in the studio. Tash got one in the chamber with Digital Almagram (sp). 2009 is gonna be one educational year for the younger fans. PAY ATTENTION!!

Bout to go check out Grand$ blog… got the message, homie.

  • http://tonygrands.blogspot.com Tony Grand$

What is it about Interscope that they get these quality, established artists & do nothing for them? Is Iovine really some type of mega-douche?

Rakim, Rae, Mobb, M.O.P., Busta, hell even Ortiz (who’d I leave off?)….. What’s good? I’m confused how these dudes (@ Interscope), who’ve put in numerous man-hours in the biz, just get sidelined, like the Hip Hop public doesn’t want to hear them anymore?

I’m glad to see every artist that I named didn’t let that stop them from getting back out to the people. Seems like that label is content on Em & 50 to be their cash cows indefinitely. Maybe Soulja Boy next. Definitely not Hamilton; he should take some time off rapping & take some Self Defense classes. Maybe watch some Wesley Snipes movies.

  • BeerGangsta

No big deal! Mop is not on nobody mind. It’s a waiste of time waiting on these Fuckers to come out.

    • $ykotic

N*gga you stay losing points up in here.

Even I don’t respond to every single post if I don’t/won’t/can’t speak on it.

Do you not read the comments? The industry is checking in!

You with no spell check is automatic FAIL!

Enjoy your weekend diet. Stay safe little homie.

      Now…

And I know Danze. Saratoga Av in NY. He ain’t know where close to being a Ross. The streets know MOP. I’ve been in New Zealand and they know MOP. You ain’t never heard anyone in the game come sideways about MOP.

Hell I even commend Jay and 50 for signing these dudes. THEY WANTED TO SEE THEM BLOW! But they are waaaaaayyy too gutter.

Commission enjoy your weekend! I’ma enjoy my land by the lake and be thankful I grew beyond Marcy Pj’s in NY and my adversity.

      • Jamal7Mile

        $ykotic!!

Enjoy ya weekend, Bro! For the thousandth time, I co-sign. They ARE waaaay too gutter for majors!

        Tony Grand$!!

Appreciate the shout-out on the blogs homie! I know those web-based kinks can be a bitch. JUST DON’T FUCK WITH THE GROUND WIRE THAT’S BURIED ON THE SIDE OF THE HOUSE LEADING UP TO YOUR AT&T PHONE BOX!!

Lol!! I might disappear this wkend too. A lot of company coming over to jump in the pool and eat up all my food. I’ll try to check in though.

        Peace!

I’m Glad these dudes are finally gonnna drop something I’ve liked their steez since the first time I head “Ante up” & “Cold as Ice” but I could never imagine them droping under G-unit a fucking album with faggetass yayo & banks all over it and fifty on the hooks lol thats the main reason why Mobb Deep bricked besides M.O.P. its way too gangsta and Raw for that G-String Unit anyways!!!

  • Nate

Always liked MOP doing their own thing. Been waiting on some new music.

  • Fireforreal

I know The dick riders are gonna be pissed but here i go. I love hardcore hip hop and underground shit(and no I’m not some dumb ass 18 year old who doesn’t know shit about hip hop past 2000. But who the fuck cares about M.O.P in the year 2009 ? I used to like them guys but they never evolved as artist’s and went from the roc to g-unit to get some commercial love but couldn’t deliver hot enough songs so they got dropped by both.

YOU FROM FLINT. I’ll check you out, but know this… XXLmag.comandtalkshit has become a Hip Hop Community that DESPISES spam. You’re from the Mitten State just like I am. YOU should become a personality with your own personal screen-name. Make one up…

To the rest of us, you are a spammer who tends to get ignored. Or I should say MOST of us because nobody outside Michigan knows where, what, who or (again) where Flint, MI is. Yeah, that’s MC BREED’s hometown so show just a lil more respect to one of MY DECEASED HOMIE’s memory and come at *us better than a spam! Engage in a convo or two.
