In connection with the Urban Arts Partnership, a number of artists, including producer 9th Wonder and former Fugees rapper Pras, will participate in Interactive Master Classes, a set of classroom workshops with a select group of New York City high school students on Monday afternoon (April 27).

The seminars, which will take place at the New Design High School on the Lower East Side, will provide students the opportunity to discover tools of the trade for their own art works as they connect with the highly experienced artists, also including the likes of Do The Right Thing actress Rosie Perez and Miracle At St. Anna actor Michael Ealy.

"My mantra for Urban Arts Partnership is the only thing that separates a privileged kid from an underprivileged kid is opportunity,” said Perez, Urban Arts Partnership Artistic Board Chair, in a statement. “I've seen too many walking geniuses grow up to fail, to not rise to the occasion.”

The efforts by the partnership will culminate in the Urban Arts Festival at the Bleecker Street Theatre on May 19. - Devin Chanda
