Eminem “Relapses” This May, Plans Sequel For Later In The Year

Originally scheduled to drop in 2008, Slim Shady’s long awaited and highly anticipated comeback disc, Relapse, has officially received a May 19th release date.

MTV News reports that not only will Eminem finally deliver his first album in over four years, he also plans to put another CD on shelves by the end of ’09. “A lot of people were expecting Relapse to drop last year,” Em shared in a press release. “I was one of them. Then Dre and I went back in the studio in September for a few days, and that turned into six months. We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre. Putting out Relapse 2 will let everyone get all of the best stuff.”

As XXLmag.com previously reported, Shady’s artist 50 Cent – recently revealed that his album, Before I Self Destruct, has been pushed back until after Relapse comes out. – Elan Macini

    Another classic or two to add to the collection.

    Crack a Bottle is o.k. when you first hear it, and it does grow on you if you keep it in a mix. It was a good radio single/download choice.

    Of course, that one song in no way is indicative of a album- for those of you who didn’t care for it. With Em you can pretty much count that it will be released on that date or fairly close to that date. Just put it down for Em in May- high school and college grads will be copping this..

    I think both albums gon be hot, I don’t think Em would even come after 4 years with something that’s not. In 4 years he should have a handful of material, and new topics to touch on. I think Relapse 2 is going to be fire though. Mostly produced by the Doctor, it’s over. Not too many albums have 5 or 6 songs from Dre on it that don’t go platinum. I think we all know this album gon do real well.
