As XXLmag.com reported yesterday (1/7), SRC rapper Asher Roth was among several passengers who helped detain a man who made a bomb threat during a recent ATL to LA flight. Looks like Roth was not the superhero he was made out to be.
The Atlanta-based rapper went on the airwaves to clarify his role this morning on DJ Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg’s Hot 97 radio show and denied any involvement. “Apparently I’m [24's] Jack Bauer,” he said. “Really man I had nothing to do with that. I mean that’s all my dude Chris Llewellyn. The guitarist/bassist in the band. He held it down dude, he also ripped a solo on the Carson Daly show. It was a beautiful day for him. He’s a hero.” [Listen here]
“He’s the one who detained the man,” Asher continued. “I didn’t witness it or anything like that. So he heard the ‘help me, help me’ from he back of the plane and he was the first to respond along with a couple of other gentlemen and like pin the dude down. The dude was like ‘I’ve got a bomb, I’ve got a bomb,’ but this is all hearsay. I didn’t get to witness any of it . I’m just happy Chris was there.”
The XXL freshen alum will be appearing on “Last Call With Carson Daly” tomorrow at 1:30 a.m. EST on NBC. In related Asher news Dipset rapper Jim Jones recently put his own spin on his single “I Love College” for an unofficial remix. [Listen here] – Elan Mancini
