Rick Ross wasted no time responding to 50 Cent’s diss record “Officer Ricky (Go ‘Head Try Me).”
In a conversation this morning on radio personality Angela Yee’s Lip Service radio show on Shade 45, the Miami Boss challenged Fif to come back with stronger material within 48 hours. “I heard ["Officer Ricky"], I was positive that couldn’t be the response,” he told Yee. “Say he’s f*cking joking…We all gonna act like we ain’t hear that garbage. We gonna give you another 48 hours. Take your time. Go back in the lab and come up with something else.” [Listen Here]
The Ross Vs. 50 feud apparently all began when the two stars ran into one another backstage at the BET Awards. “When I finally got the opportunity to bump into him, I actually intended on having words with him,” Ross revealed. “But he kinda disappointed me, so, I kept it moving.” [Listen Here]
As XXLmag.com previously reported, Ross is no longer with Slip-N-Slide Records, opting to release his new album under his own Maybach Music imprint, in conjunction with Def Jam. In his interview with Yee he reasoned on the business decision. “It was time for me to get a bigger portion of the proceeds,” he explained. Along with his “Mafia Music” diss record – which dropped last Saturday (Jan. 24), sparking the beef with 50 – Ross leaked his first single off Deeper Than Rap yesterday. The song, titled “Magnificent,” features production by frequent collaborator J.U.S.T.I.C.E League with a hook by R&B crooner John Legend. [Listen Here] – Rosario Velazquez
