Atlanta rapper Ludacris is opting to upgrade his theater - Theater of the Mind that is.

CNET reports that the self-proclaimed “mouf of the south” has partnered with audio company Monster Cables to release his latest album in high definition stereo surround sound. The album was mixed by Monster head, Noel Lee, and reportedly makes listeners feel as if they are in the studio with Luda.

In order to play the disc in the new HD format, fans need at least a surround sound system. Monster also has plans to make the CD compatible with Dolby so fans can experience the new sound on their headphones.

In related news Theater of the Mind, which is Luda’s 7th solo album, is on its way to gold status. The Grammy-award winning artist currently has over 470,000 copies of his record sold after 6 weeks on the charts.

The HD version of the disc will be hitting stores next month. – Elan Mancini
