T.I. Nabs Another Platinum Plaque, Clings To Top 10

Add another plaque to T.I.’s stat box. The self-proclaimed “king of the south” just cleared the million mark by selling 76, 560 copies of The Paper Trail this week. Resting at the no. 10 slot, Tip has sold 1, 047, 627 copies according to Nielsen’s Soundscan.

Meanwhile, Lil Wayne seems to have found Michael Jordan’s number. Landing at no. 23, Tha Carter III moves 23, 037 units this week -bringing its grand total to 2, 624, 722 units sold.

The Recession continues to be kind to Jeezy. This week, Jeezy scans 17, 412 copies to claim the no. 31 position. The CD has sold 578, 973 CDs to date.

The Game could soon benefit from a boost courtesy of his upcoming Kevin Connolly-directed clip featuring Ne-Yo. In the meantime, LAX is doing just fine at no. 38. Chuck Taylor’s third solo effort pushes 14, 121 copies this week -totaling at 545, 974 CDs sold.

The four aforementioned artists remain the only hip-hop representatives on Billboard’s Hot 100. Look for Q-Tip’s The Renaissance to join the rotation on next week’s Charts. –Marvin Brandon
