Elvis may not have meant much to Chuck D, but Kanye West is apparently pretty fond of him. Yeezy revealed he wanted to be "the king" during his acceptance speech at the American Music Awards last night (11/23). West took home trophies for favorite male rap/hip-hop artist and favorite rap/hip-hop album for Graduation.

"I'd like to thank everyone who accepted me trying to break new boundaries in music," West said during his speech. "It's our responsibility as musicians to keep pushing each other. ... We will be the new Beatles, the new (Jimi) Hendrix. I want to be Elvis."

Though thankful, the Louis Vutton Don shared his plans to hand his awards to Lil Wayne, stating he felt it was Weezy's year, not his. The Awards marked West's first wins at the AMAs. The Chicago rapper/producer vowed to never return to the AMAs after Gretchen Wilson beat him for best new artist back in 2004. -Marvin Brandon
