Maybe “Can’t Get Right” would be a better MC tag now? DMX was arrested yet again yesterday when police pulled him in on a warrant for having no valid driver’s license. The rapper was booked and released four hours later on a $500 bond. Just last month X was arrested multiple times in Arizona, most notably for felony drug charges and an animal cruelty misdemeanor. It’s a case of he said/ he said. But both parties are the same guy and both responses sound suspect. Don Imus–who made rippling headlines when he called the Rutgers women’s basketball team “Nappy-headed hoes” last year–recently made another insensitive racial remark. This time regarding NFL player Adam “Pacman” Jones. Yesterday Imus asked “what color is he” in reference to Jones when his on-air host listed the player’s legal problem. When told he was African-American, Imus responded: “There you go. Now we know.” Today, however, the controversial radio jock defended his comment saying it was a “sarcastic point.” “What people should be outraged about is that they arrest blacks for no reason,” he said. “I mean, there’s no reason to arrest this kid six times.” [AP]
