Eminem Fan Sentenced for Stealing Kim’s Cell Phone

A 19 year-old Canadian named Kyle Spratt was recently sentenced to a year of probation and a $230 fine for stealing a cell phone from Eminem’s ex-wife Kim Mathers. Spratt stole the cell phone in 2007 while Mathers was at a bingo hall in Ontario where he worked at the time. Spratt eventually returned the phone, but kept the phone numbers and eventually called Eminem directly. An aspiring rapper, the young man begged the multi-platinum MC to listen to his demo. The authorities were eventually brought into the matter when Kim started to worry that Spratt would post pictures of her children taken from the phone on the internet. Spratt meanwhile, used portions of recorded conversations with Em for a song he recorded called “Slim Sellout.” As a condition of he sentence, Spratt is barred from having any contact with Em or Kim.
