The Game may have gotten off with only eight days in jail for allegedly assaulting and threatening a man during a February 2007 basketball game, but the incident may end up costing him more than just time. According to the Associated Press, alleged victim Shannon Rodrick, filed a lawsuit against the rapper on Thursday (March 13) in connection with the incident. In the suit which was obtained by website TMZ.com, Rodrick claims that the rapper told him that his basketball “team is garbage” and then sucker punched him. The Compton MC then allegedly retrieved a pistol from his SUV and threatened to shoot the man. After agreeing to a plea deal, prosecutors dismissed additional charges of making criminal threats and exhibiting a firearm in the presence of a peace officer. He was then sentenced to 60 days in jail and 150 hours of community service. He was released last weekend after serving only eight days in the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in L.A. Rodrick’s suit claims assault, battery, a civil rights violation and negligence and seeks an unspecified amount of damages.
