On Thursday (March 20), a federal magistrate ruled that T.I. may attend an Easter Sunday service at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. The rapper is currently under house arrest while he awaits trial on numerous federal weapons charges. According to WSB-TV 2, the rapper will be allowed to leave his residence from 8:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. for the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church’s annual service. The service, which has been held in the Dome by Bishop Eddie Long’s congregation for the last 14 years, nearly had to be relocated because of damage caused by a tornado last Friday (March 14). Although Tip’s request was granted, he will be required to be accompanied by both a court appointed monitor, and one of his attorneys. In November of last year, the rapper asked the courts permission to host Thanksgiving dinner at his Atlanta home, but later withdrew the request when prosecutors accused him of seeking special treatment.
