Ice Cube’s March 15 performance at the South by Southwest (SxSW) music and film festival in Austin, TX will be streamed live on his real-time online television network, UVNTV. Launched earlier this year, UVNTV.com is billed as “the first real-time streaming television network.” The site will utilize Microsoft’s new Silverlight technology to provide fans unable to make the free concert with a high quality viewing experience from the comfort of their own homes. “We are excited to partner with UVNTV.com and SxSW to bring this live concert into the homes of people globally, using our Silverlight technology which delivers the high-def experiences that Ice Cube's fans will love," said Rob Pulciani, Microsoft's senior marketing manager. The veteran MC is also hard at work on his new solo album Raw Footage, which is scheduled to hit stores on June 17 through his own Lench Mob Records. The project will feature guest appearances from Nas, Scarface and WC. Cube’s last album, 2006’s Laugh Now, Cry Later debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart and became the largest selling independent Hip-Hop release of that year.
