Lil Wayne is preparing to drop the first single for his highly anticipated and much delayed new LP, Tha Carter III. Weezy recently shot a video in Las Vegas for the first single, “Lollipop,” which was produced by Deezle and features singer Static. In a new interview with Billboard magazine, Wayne explains that he doesn’t want to rush the project. “It's one of those albums people are really waiting on, so I made it so that whatever is on it will stick with you forever,” he tells Billboard. “I'm taking my time with it. And I'm giving artists I respect and people I want to do songs with—not songs the label fixed—an opportunity to collaborate.” He goes on to say that he is interested in working out a deal with his label, Universal Records, that will allow him to shoot videos for each song on the album. “Every one of them is a movie,” he says of the tracks. Guests scheduled to appear on Tha Carter III include Hurricane Chris, Corey Gunz, Tyga, Jibbs, Shanell, Kidd Kidd, Mack Maine and Lil Mama. Producers including The Alchemist, Cool & Dre and Jim Jonsin have already contributed tracks.
