The Recording Academy of Arts and Sciences announced today (February 8) that Kanye West has officially been added as a performer at this Sunday’s Grammy ceremony. According to unconfirmed reports, the rapper has been rehearsing his two hits “Stronger” and “Dear Mama,” and is expected to perform them as a tribute to his late mother Dr. Donda West. His mom passed away on November 10 after undergoing plastic surgery. Kanye leads this years list of Grammy nominees with eight nods across a range of categories, including Album of the Year, Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song. His acclaimed 2007 LP Graduation is considered a favorite for the Album of the Year trophy which has eluded him in the past. The Grammys telecast begins on 8:00 p.m. EST on Sunday (February 10).
