Cable network Current TV will debut exclusive footage from last year’s JAM Awards ceremony tonight at 9:00 p.m. EST/PST. The JAM Awards were conceived by Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels as a way to both honor his slain Run-D.M.C. DJ Jam Master Jay, and reward members of the Hip-Hop culture who promote social responsibility through Justice, Arts and Music (J.A.M.). Honorees at the inaugural ceremony included Public Enemy front man Chuck D, Wyclef Jean and graffiti artist Lee Quinones. Show attendees were treated to performances from EPMD, Snoop Dogg, Mobb Deep, Raekwon and several other artists. Tonight’s episode will be the first of eight, each of which will feature behind the scenes footage from the shows and exclusive backstage interviews with performers and attendees.
