Trial Date Set in The Game’s Weapons Case

The Game’s trial on various weapons and assault related charges is scheduled to begin on February 4. According to TMZ.com, an L.A. County Superior Court judge set the date during a hearing earlier today. The judge has also scheduled a hearing for January 22, during which he will decide if the LAPD is in contempt of court for failing to return $44,000 that was confiscated from the rapper. In June, the Black Wall Street CEO was charged with possession of a firearm in a school zone, exhibiting a firearm on the grounds of a facility for minors and making criminal threats. The charges stem from a February 24, 2006 incident during a pickup basketball game at the Rita Walters Educational Learning Complex in L.A. He later plead not guilty to all charges. If convicted, the LA native will face up to five years in prison. According to TMZ, the $44,000 was confiscated during the course of the investigation and the LAPD has refused to return the money. The LAPD has refused to comment citing the ongoing investigation.
