Some new details have emerged in the shooting of Bay Area veteran Spice 1 that occurred early Monday morning (December 3). According to the Contra Costa Times, Spice, whose real name is Robert Green, told police that he fell asleep in his car in front of his home on the 26000 block of Chiplay Avenue in Hayward, Ca. He estimated that he had been sleeping for about 30 minutes when, at around 12:30 a.m., he awoke to see somebody standing next to the car. The shooter then fired through the car window striking the rapper in the chest. Green then made his way inside and family members called 911. Hayward police Lt. Reid Lindblom said the assailant was described as a white or latino male, about 5 feet 7 inches and was dressed in all black clothing. Authorities noted that nothing was taken from Spice or his vehicle and they are yet to uncover a motive. Spice 1 is currently recovering at a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.
