Romeo to Attend USC on Basketball Scholarship

During a news conference at a hotel in Beverly Hills on Monday (November 19), rapper and actor Romeo signed a national letter of intent to attend the University of Southern California on a basketball scholarship. According to the Associated Press, Romeo, who is currently a guard on the Beverly Hills High basketball team, is ranked among the top 15 prep point guards in the nation. The teenage son of No Limit founder Master P will join fellow high school hoops stars DeMar DeRozan and Donte Smith on the USC team. Last season he averaged 13.9 points and 5.6 assists per game. “This is the most important thing I’ve had to do and hopefully it sends a message to kids across the country that education is more important than money,” Romeo explained during the news conference. “Getting a college scholarship is more important than winning an American Music Award, and I plan to be the best student-athlete I can be at USC.” Master P’s own ambitions to play professional basketball are well documented, and the mogul tried out for two NBA teams during the 1990’s, but failed to make the cut.

      That’s very true. The majority of my friends got their Scholarships the same way. But they still averaged more than 15 a game In H.S. and they played Nationally Ranked Catholic Schools. Paterson Catholic, Tim Thomas went here way back too)Paterson N.J, Bergen Catholic, Oradell N.J..

      My friends lil brother, Jordan Theodores’ signed with Seton Hall last week, he attends Paterson Catholic, He’s also a junior and will destroy Romeo. No lie. Watch out for Jordan at Seton Hall next year.

    Actually, he already had that scholarship offer before this season. He averaged 19 pts., 5 assists, and 2 steals a game as a junior. And whether yall know it or not, recruiting is alot bigger than just stats. They take into account how athletic someone is, family history of athleticism, level of competition, and they also consider your GRADES. So don’t knock that man for going D1 and gettin money. Keep doin you.
