Trilla, the follow up to Rick Ross’ debut Port of Miami, has been given a new release date of February 19, 2008. According to Billboard.com, Def Jam wants to give the project more time to build momentum, since the lead single—“Speedin’” ft. R.Kelly—is currently sitting at No. 76 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Trilla will feature guest appearances from Def Jam head Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and Trick Daddy. Ross has also recruited go-to hook men Akon and T-Pain as well as Marshia Ambrosius of Floetry. “’Trilla’ means real enough and was really inspired by Michael Jackson’s Thriller,” Ross explained to Billboard.com. “It’s going to be the biggest street album of the year.” Production duo The Runners, who helped put Ross on the map with his 2006 smash “Hustlin,’” will return for Trilla, in addition to DJ Toomp and Cool & Dre.
