On December 4, Capitol/Priority Records will be re-releasing four CD’s worth of classic West Coast material from some of the most influential artists to ever touch the microphone. The releases will include a reissue of N.W.A’s seminal sophomore LP Straight Outta Compton, and “Best of” compilations from the late Eazy-E, Mack 10 and group Westside Connection. Straight Outta Compton, originally released in 1988, is often hailed as one of the most important gangster rap albums ever recorded and helped solidify the legacies of group members Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and Eazy-E. For this re-release, the album has been expanded to include a live version of “Compton’s In The House,” as well covers of some of the album’s original tracks by Snoop Dogg, C-Murder, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.

N.W.A founder Eazy-E, who passed away in 1995 after contracting the AIDS virus, also left behind a sizable solo catalog, and Capitol/Priority have gathered some of his best work for a new compilation.Featuring... Eazy-E is a 16 track collection of the MC’s best collaborations and rare solo recordings. The album includes tracks Eazy recorded with artists such as Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Mack 10 and N.W.A members Ice Cube, and MC Ren. Featuring…Eazy-E also includes four previously out of print tracks. Also hitting stores on December 4 is The Best Of Westside Connection: The Gangsta, The Killa And The Dope Dealer. Weighing in at 18 tracks, the disc brings together some of the best cuts from the West Coast super group comprised of Ice Cube, WC and Mack 10. Finally The Best Of Mack 10: Foe Life, a 19-track collection of the MC’s solo work will also be available.
