LINK: Jay-Z On Possible Jadakiss/Ruff Ryders Deal

Rumors about Jada going to Def Jam have been running rampant, but now MTV is reporting that Jay-Z hinted at a possible new deal between Ruff Ryders and the Roc:

“Well, I’ve been actually trying to get Jadakiss to come to Roc-A-Fella/ Ruff Ryders for a minute,” he said. “It’s not done. It’s in the final stages, though. I spoke to [co-CEO] Dee [Dean] and all of them about doing something really special with a Roc-A-Fella/ Ruff Ryders collaboration.”

    This is a good move for both parties. I hope Jay sign all three (Styles & Sheek) as a deal as opposed to just signing Kiss. The streets been needing the Lox and the solos they were dropping was nice along with the mix tapes. We need an official album. I heard the next album was called “Live, Suffer, and Celebrate” It’s in the final stages….We’ll see.

    Jada’s one of my favorite MC’s ever.

    With that being said, he’s way past his prime. and i dont see how him going to the Roc makes sense for anyone. he’s not going to make Def Jam any money. And he’s not going to increase his fanbase signifigantly, if at all.

    This just goes into my theory that Jay is trying to sign,or have under him (pause) anybody thats ever dissed him in any conceivable way (The Roots,Nas,Ghost,now Jada). If Jayo Felony gets a new deal, you will know that this is about humiliation, not record sales.

    Everytime a named artits changes label does not translate into mega sales. Rememeber when Busta signed with Dre? or when Rakim signed with Dre? and both of these cats are way outta Jada’s league, lyrically and as performers. Anybody who thinks Jada can fuck with the pre steriods/HGH Busta is crazy and ANYBODY who thinks Jada can spit with the God Rakim is fucking retarded. The lox as a group havent moved units since bad boy, and they wont go down as one of the top hip hops groups of all time.     there is know doubt in my mind that jada is one of the nicest behind the mic, and has more street cred than most – the rocafella move will prolly not make a difference in album sales. Only Hova n Ye’ sell records on the roc, the rest either flop or sit on the shelf for years….(bleek, YG’s, peedi etc.)And i aint hatin cuz i got luv for the roc, but those are just the facts.

    Dont matter Jada shit is hot, but this is not a good move. Nigga been shelved for years, because he went up against a machine. I used to love the lox, but I honestly think their time is up. Sheek is like a more annoying capone, and I love styles shit, but he cant make a full album to save his life. They have no buzz. Jay goin to shelve the shit out’em, I thought they learned their lesson when they fucked with Puff.
