DJ Drama Sets a December 4 Release Date for Gangsta Grillz Album

After his January arrest on charges of music piracy delayed his debut solo LP indefinitely, DJ Drama has finally regrouped and set a release date for Gangsta Grillz: The Album. The iPod King will release the highly anticipated mixtape album on December 4 through Grand Hustle and Atlantic Records. The first single, “5,000 Ones” featuring T.I., Diddy, Twista, Yung Joc, Young Dro and Willie the Kid, is expected to drop shortly. On January 16, 2007, Drama and his partner Don Cannon were arrested during a raid on their Atlanta recording studios. Working at the behest of the RIAA, federal agents confiscated thousands of mixtape CD’s, financial records and even Drama’s external hard drive, which contained all of the music he had produced for his LP up to that point.
