Grammy Award winning rapper Coolio is set to star in a new reality show on the women’s cable network Oxygen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oxygen has ordered six half-hour episodes of Coolio & the Gang which will follow the 44 year-old MC as he raises six teenagers on his own, manages his career and launches a clothing line. “Coolio is a single dad raising kids, and it’s got a lot of unconventional parenting aspects to it,” said Debbie Beece, Vice President of programming and marketing at Oxygen. “He wants his kids to do as he says, not as he does.” The Compton, California based MC gained widespread notoriety in 1995 when his song “Gangster’s Paradise,” recorded for the film Dangerous Minds, earned him a Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance.
