An attorney representing the estate of Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace filed a federal court motion on Monday that claims a witness who recently recanted his testimony was lying when he did so. According to the Associated Press, the motion seeks access to phone and prison visitation records for incarcerated former R&B singer Waymond Anderson. In August, Anderson stated during a deposition that he had lied when he previously claimed to have knowledge of the involvement of fallen LA cops David Mack and Rafael Perez’s in Biggie’s 1997 murder. Anderson, who is currently serving a life sentence on an unrelated murder conviction, also accused Biggie’s family and their attorney of trying to bribe him for his testimony. Attorney Perry R. Sanders, who represents the Wallace family, has categorically denied any such allegations. Monday’s court filing asserts that Anderson changed his testimony in an attempt to “negatively affect public sentiment and the jury pool.”
